Here are the 6 best restaurants in El Paredon.
This tiny surf town packs a big punch when it comes to eateries. There’s not a huge amount to do in El Paredon, so we spent all of our time stuffing ourselves silly. That puts us in good stead to give you a list of the best restaurants in El Paredon.
Pacifico/El Tiburon
Pacifico is a laid-back restaurant with a huge menu, including pizza, pasta, salads, schnitzels and burgers.
We’d heard it was good, but we were still surprised by just how amazing the pizza actually was. Easily one of the best pizzas we’ve had outside of Italy. We also tried the dessert which was death-by-chocolate-heaven. If you’ve been travelling for a while, and you’re craving some home comforts, Pacifico should be on your list of places to eat in El Paredon.
The prices are a little on the steep side (90-115Q per main, which is around £9-11) but you get what you pay for. The pizzas are also huge, so you could easily split one between 2 people.
Yoli’s Local Cuisine
Yoli’s is a family-run, shack-style restaurant which offers the most amazing local food. They serve numerous fish dishes but the menu is limited to the fresh catch and produce available that day. It definitely earns a spot on our ‘best restaurants in El Paredon’ list.
The portion sizes are generous but so tasty, they leave you wanting more! The owners are super accommodating and are happy to cater for any diet. We stumbled upon Yoli’s halfway through our stay but wish we found it earlier!
The prices are really reasonable here, you can enjoy your dinner with a beer for under £5. We do suggest leaving a generous tip for this local family-run business.
Cafecito Del Mar
A hidden Gem! Cafecito Del Mar offers some of the best coffee we had in Guatemala. Alongside the amazing coffee they serve up some artistic smoothie bowls, avo on toast and so much more. It is perfect if you fancy a healthy breakfast or lunch.
The cafe is located in the centre of town and sometimes the food takes a while to come, but it is so worth the wait. We really recommend the fully loaded smoothie bowl, it leaves you feeling energised and ready to get back out on the waves in El Paredon. If you are looking for healthy, fresh food, Cafecito Del Mar is definitely one of the best places to eat in El Paredon.
Cocori Lodge
The restaurant at Cocori has views for days and a decent menu with a mix of local and European food. We had a creamy mushroom pasta and a burrito, which came to around £11, good food that doesn’t break the bank.
The views make it extra worth it. You could waste a whole day sitting in Cocori’s beachfront bar, watching the waves and the surfers, enjoying the sea breeze!
Papi’s Place
Papi’s Place offers a touch of Australian cafe culture in little El Paredon. Barista coffee (the best we tried in El Paredon), poke bowls, burritos, banana bread and best of all… air con!
You can tell they focus on quality over quantity here. The menu is small, but everything we tried was amazing. We spent a whole morning snacking, topping up on caffeine and enjoying the unfamiliar feeling of AC.
This place also has a small selection of beach-friendly products like flip-flops, sun cream, rash vests and sunnies, if you need any supplies.
Mellow Hostel
Whilst in El Paredon we stayed at Mellow Hostel, so we had our fair share of meals here. They have a great menu with a good amount of veggie options too. The prices are also really reasonable.
The simple bagel was a stand-out dish for me! A homemade bagel with a huge dollop of cream cheese and fresh tomatoes, the perfect breakfast snack – and only 34Q. We also tried the meatballs, veggie salad, lentil croquettes and the burger.
The prices range from 34-72Q, but the portions are huge, so if you’re on a backpacker budget, Mellow is one of the best places to eat in El Paredon.
Now that you’ve got a good list of the best restaurants in El Paredon, here’s our list of things to do.
